School Presentation: St. Vincent Elementary    Location: Perryville, MO    Date: May 14, 2004
The final school presentation for Brain Awareness Month was held at St. Vincent Elementary School in Perryville with grades K-8 in attendance.  Dr. Gibbs presented in front of the largest school crowd of the month, 470 students!  This presentation not only featured discussion, but was also a hands-on experience for the audience.  Students were encouraged to participate in the presentation, and following the session Dr. Gibbs answered the students' questions about brain safety, good decision-making and living a healthy life.  The students were shown clips from both THINK FIRST videos, which fit to all age groups in attendance.  When the presentation ended, all of the students were given a chance to look at a real human brain and skull.  Students also received a surgical hat and mask, as well as an informational brain booklet to keep.
